Pathways

All students study programmes are focused on communication and the Preparing for Adulthood curriculum.

We have three pathways and once baselined, students are identified as one of three types of learner and then their programme and targets are set accordingly, ensuring that the teaching styles and learning is adapted to the style of the learner.

As each learner may have a spikey profile, have spells where they make exceptional progress in one area, or may have missed some education through ill health, they may move pathways and groups to ensure they are always working to challenge themselves within the correct groups.

Students are encouraged to explore work experience through volunteering opportunities in anticipation of this continuing on a part time basis after college, either with personal assistance or through their next day provision service.
